Daniel Dragon has an accident

 

Daniel Dragon had an accident.

He jumped from in a tree

And, landing very badly,

Broke a bone or two or three.

They took him to Emergency

To photograph his joints

Then set him lots of work to do

To earn Pink Number points.

Don't cry, Daniel

They said it was quite foolish;

He must avoid such bumps

And he must be more careful

When practising his jumps.

So he rested for a day

Or two or three or four

And then, with very careful step,

He practised jumps once more.

He practiced gently, then quite hard,

Until long leaps came easy.

He did not cheat nor flap his wings

And fly on air when breezy.

So practice made him perfect;

A champion competer.

No-one at all, at dragon school,

Could beat his jump: Two Metre!
